The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy
I'm back in New York party people! Today I went to the MOMA with my sister, Lauren, and by far the highlight was the Tim Burton exhibit. I've always been a big fan of his work but seeing all of his early sketches made me have a new found respect for his work. It was a packed exhibit and truly is worth checking out if you're in New York. Other favorites included Monet's Water Lilies, Richard Avedon's photo series, and Marina Abramovic's The Artist Is Present interactive exhibit. Here are some photos I took on my phone.

"Are you quite finished, or shall I fetch my Stradivarius?"
I just finished reading Losing Mum and Pup, Christopher Buckley's charming memoir about losing both of his parents, New York socialite Patricia Taylor Buckley and famous Right Wing conservative William F. Buckley, within 11 months of each other. The book is well written and humorous, leaving the reader with a longing to have known these two great figures. I'd highly recommend it and am planning on reading Christopher Buckley's other works, among which include Thank You For Smoking and Boomsday.

My Lonely Diamond Heart
I saw Marissa Nadler perform live this past Saturday night and I was seriously blown away. She sounded truly incredible. She is just as good, if not better, live. She's been classified as a "freak-folk artist" and her songs can be quite haunting, yet they're so beautiful and elegant that you have to love her. Nadler played tracks off her latest album Little Hells and some favorites off her 2007 album Songs III: Bird on the Water. She is such a skilled musician and looked like this beautiful fairy forest creature on stage. Small crush.

Hail To The Thief
Photographer Paolo Roversi shot Laura Stone in the spread The Great Illusion for March's Vogue Italia. It's dark and sexy and I love the fantasy lighting.

Happy Tuesday Yall
I'm finally free from my work hell. I've been a very bad blogger but I promise to resume my duties with diligence and grace, or at least I'll try. It's a beautiful day in Oberlin, the sun is shining and the birds they are a singing.
Now hit up that Marvin Gaye and tell me you're not in a good mood!
