Reunited And It Feels So Good

I'm back in New York ladies and gents and it's a gas. Last night dinner at one of my favorite sushi joints, Poke, was delicious as always and seeing my darling Brooke for a tasty Thai meal has made my New York vacation reallll good. Straight up SoHo shopping and Baked by Melissa treats, what more can a girl want?

A Dream's A Lie

Well, October sure has been a dismal month - work, work, work. One more week of my own personal hell and then the blog will resume into full swing, promises promises. Looking forward to the Guided By Voices concert on Halloween and Phantogram show in NY, gotta keep on moving... I'll leave you with some Jenny and Johnny in the meantime from their collaboration album, I'm Having Fun Now. This adorable indie duo (Jenny Lewis & Jonathan Rice) manages to create a really light, fun, and super cohesive album. Ya dig?

Pet Sounds

London producer Bullion released Bullion Presents... The Beach Boys vs J Dilla - Pet Sounds: In The Key of Dee in 2007, yet I shamefully had not even heard of it until last week. The samples from the 1966 Beach Boys album Pet Sounds mixed with J Dilla samples, seems like oil and water, but trust me, it works. There's been a lot of comparison with this album to Danger Mouse's Grey Album, and while it's a good album, this one seems way more unique. Songs like "You Believe In Dee" and "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times" have got me groovin' all week long. It's definitely worth some of your time.
