R.I. P. Vic Chesnutt

I just found out that singer/songwriter Vic Chesnutt died this past Christmas after being in a coma from a suicide attempt from Christmas Eve. Here's my favorite Vic Chesnutt song called Supernatural, so sad!!

Home Sweet Home

I just got back from Aruba and am tan, well more like lobster red, and well rested. Just in time to ring in the New Year and welcome 2010. Just wanted to say that I'm back fools.

One Size Fits All

Terry Richardson just did a really interesting shoot for the upcoming issue of V Magazine. The "One Size Fits All" shoot really pushes the boundaries of body image in the modeling industry, showing girls can rock high fashion, and look good doing it, if they are a size 0 or a size 10.

Stranded

I'm supposed to be on a beach right now soaking up the sun in St. Kitts. However, thanks to mother nature, the flight was cancelled, and seeing how there is only one direct flight there a week, I wouldn't be able to fly out until next monday and wouldn't be able to return home until January 6th. Now that simply won't do. So I'm currently sitting in my kitchen, on the phone with 2 different travel agents doing an emergency booking to Aruba. Happy Holidays?

Best Coast

I've always been a sucker for a good girl band, which could be one reason why I love Best Coast. Bethany Cosentino's dreamy vocals make you long with nostalgia for your summertime fling and curling up on a beach in the sun. Its lo-fi pop sound seems like an ode to California and it's catchy lyrics have got me singing as I wander aimlessly in the halls, like a love-struck girl in some ghostly trance. I would highly recommend listening to the tracks "Make You Mine" and "Feeling of Love" of their new EP Make You Mine. It will automatically put you in a good mood and break your blue.

Lost & Found

Some awesome photographs I stumbled upon on ffffound.com:

Whitaker

These are some photos I took when I decided to emulate the photographer Whitaker. The main idea behind Whitaker's work is to take the everyday average snapshot and turn it into an illusion. His photographs are very convoluted and abstract to the point where it's hard to detect what the image is. To emulate his style and thought process, I took snapshots of nature and printed them using a paper negative. I drew, scratched, and made holes in my paper negatives to turn real life images found in nature and transcend them into fantasy, with mysterious and dreamlike qualities.

Alexa Chung

Lately I have been obsessing over Alexa Chung. I'm thinking of cutting my long luscious hair and am going to try and emulate her short do. And did you know she was dating Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner. Here are some photos from her Harpars Bazaar UK shoot:
